Categories may be combined or removed if submissions are insufficient; affected books remain eligible in a suitable category. CANREADS may add categories where submission numbers support them.

Before you enter

Submission guidelines.

Eligibility
  • Self-published books and books from qualifying hybrid or traditional publishers are welcome.
  • The author must have lived in Canada for at least one year as a resident or citizen, or the submitted book must be published by a Canadian publisher.
  • Books must be written in English.
  • Publication dates must fall between January 2016 and April 2027.
  • A CANREADS editorial review is not required to enter.
Submission instructions
  • Enter and pay through the CANREADS submissions page. No account is required.
  • Manuscripts are not uploaded through the CANREADS website. After checkout, CANREADS sends a confirmation email within an hour with instructions for providing your manuscript.
  • An electronic copy in PDF or EPUB format is required. Physical copies are optional; request the mailing address from CANREADS.
  • Your submission is considered once payment is confirmed and your book is received.
